It truly takes a village to grow a Chamber of Commerce! And here in Hudson County and Hoboken we are fortunate to have a village of volunteers! Whether they are helping us to set a direction for the Chamber or helping us to ensure that attendees have a good time at our events, ALL of our volunteers are critical to our success.

Managing a lean organization, and ensuring that it stays lean, means that we have to call  upon our members and community leaders to pitch in on occasion. We would not be where we are today as an organization if our members didn’t answer the call! So first and foremost, let me say THANK YOU! We cannot thank enough all of our Members who join us as volunteers to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Vivian Rohrsetzer, a regular volunteer at Chamber events, helps to raise needed funds for the Chamber! You can almost always find Vivian helping out at our events behind the registration table. Give her a shout out the next time you see her!

We like to think that not only do volunteers roll up their sleeves out of a desire to give back, but that they also truly enjoy it! When you volunteer, you meet other Members and are able to network with community leaders. You get to hone your leadership skills as well. And the results of your help are almost always immediately tangible.

We’ve developed partnerships, invited amazing speakers, created and hosted fantastic events–all because of the support and outreach of our volunteers. And the nearly 50 volunteers who serve on the Boards of the Hudson County and Hoboken Chambers have truly been instrumental in the recent growth of both orgs and our evolving partnership. Knowing they help in all these great ways must be the reason why our volunteers look so happy in these photos!

Members are always welcome to join a committee, help out at an event, volunteer in our office, and even consider joining the Hoboken or Hudson County Chamber Board of Directors. Whether it’s a quick volunteering experience or a long-term engagement, there are any number of ways to volunteer and in the coming weeks, we’ll be sure to keep the invites coming so that we can engage even more Members to help out and feel as good as the volunteers pictured here! Afterall, it takes a village!
